Rey Rodriguez has a diverse work experience in the field of graphic design and animation. Rey started their career at WTVJ NBC as a Senior Graphic Designer, where they were responsible for production and design of news and promotion graphics. During their time there, they also pioneered the establishment of the first desktop animation department in the US. Afterwards, they worked at VDO Images as a Senior Graphic Designer/Art Director, where they designed and branded cable networks and news stations across the country, as well as set up new desktop animation systems.
Rey then founded their own animation firm called Giant Octopus in 1997, which quickly became well-known and successful within the first two years of business. Rey sold Giant Octopus to The FX Group in January 2011 and worked with them as a Creative Director/Animator for two years. Following that, they joined Linear Drift as a Creative Director/Designer/Animator/Strategist, where they worked until August 2015. Currently, Rey works at Nexstar Broadcasting Group as an Art Director/Special Projects, a role they have been in since August 2015.
Rey Rodriguez studied Graphic Design Technology and Graphic Design at Miami Dade College. No specific start or end year was provided for this educational experience.
