David Heitz has a diverse background in journalism and content creation. David currently works as a Journalist and Content Creator for News Break, specializing in reporting local Denver news and covering topics such as addiction and recovery, mental health, caregiving, homelessness, and human rights issues. Prior to that, they worked as a Content Writer for Contently, producing branded content for various clients related to drug and alcohol rehabilitation, senior caregiving, LGBT film festivals, and travel. David also served as a News Reporter for Healthline Media, where they became one of the top reporters and broke several national stories on topics like HIV and Hepatitis C. Earlier in their career, they worked as a News Reporter for Quad-City Times, covering education, city hall, and writing a popular "Ask the Times" column. David also held editorial roles at Desert Sun, The Detroit News, Southern California News Group, and The Advocate magazine. David started their career as a reporter for Los Angeles Times, eventually becoming the Managing Editor for their community news division.

David Heitz attended Augustana College from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies.
