Cathy Hung

Cathy Hung is the Director at New Yorkers for Culture & Arts. Cathy has also served as the Executive Director at JAMAICA CENTER FOR ARTS AND LEARNING, INC. (JCAL) from March 2014 to July 2020. During their time at JCAL, Cathy was responsible for overseeing two city-owned landmark buildings, including the 45,000 sq. foot headquarters office Jamaica Arts Center and the 15,000 sq. foot, 400-seat state-of-the-art, multifunctional Jamaica Performing Arts Center.

Cathy developed signature programs during their time at JCAL, introducing the first educational school assembly series for the Jamaica Performing Arts Center, Queens International Children’s Festival, Making Move Dance Festival, Thursday Night Jazz Series, Downtown International Jazz Festival, ARTWORKS, a year-long dance and visual art residency program, and Jamaica Flux, a site-specific public art installation project. Cathy also launched special social service programs with the Department of Probation, Transitional Service in New York, and the Home for Homeless.

As a member of Cultural Institution Groups (CIG), Cathy provided liaison with DCA, DOE, DOP, DFTA, and government officials. Under their leadership, the organization's artistic direction was overhauled and the organizational structure was streamlined. Cathy Hung has a Master of Arts in Performing Arts Administration from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Tamkang University. Cathy also has a certification from Dale Carnegie Training in Leadership Training for Managers.
