Betsy Maury serves as the Director of Development at the New York Youth Symphony since November 2022. Prior to this role, Betsy worked as a freelance writer and editor from August 2011 to November 2022, providing editorial guidance for fiction and nonfiction manuscripts. From May 2018 to February 2022, Betsy held the position of Community Engagement Officer at Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, where responsibilities included managing relationships with major donors and advancing strategic priorities. Betsy also served as Series Editor for Critical Insights at Grey House Publishing, overseeing a successful series of literary criticism volumes from October 2015 to May 2018. Earlier experience includes travel writing for Fodor's Travel Publications and a senior acquisitions role at Penguin Random House. Betsy holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Latin from Smith College and has studied at Yale University and Barnard College.
