Charles Lane

Charles Lane is an experienced reporter currently working at New York Public Radio as an afternoon general assignment reporter. With a background spanning over two decades, Charles has been reporting for WSHU Public Radio since 2001, focusing on local government stories in Suffolk, Long Island. Prior to this, Charles was a member station reporter for NPR, contributing to various NPR programs and internationally recognized outlets. Charles has also served as an election media curator at Public Radio Exchange, investigated the soybean trade in South America for the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, and freelanced for multiple prominent networks. Charles's foundation in journalism was built following the events of 9/11. Additionally, Charles has experience as a woodworker, with a Bachelor of Arts in Patristic History from Oklahoma State University.
