Karen Benfield is an accomplished media professional and nonprofit leader with extensive experience in television production and advocacy. Currently serving as President and a member of the Board of Directors at New York City Audubon since August 2015, Karen focuses on bird conservation and education in New York. As President of Lark Song Media LLC since July 2014, Karen specializes in helping organizations create impactful online content. Previous roles include a Producer position at NBCUniversal, where Karen worked on the "Everest Avalanche Tragedy" documentary, and a significant tenure at CBS News from 1993 to 1999, where Karen produced long-form features for various newsmagazines. Karen's career began as an Associate Producer at Dow Jones, and Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Middlebury College.
