Jim May has a diverse range of work experience in the education sector. Jim currently serves as Co-CEO at New Tech Network and is a Board Member for both Texas Law Related Education and High Tech High Learning. Jim has also held roles as a Facilitator for the Deeper Learning Equity Fellowship and as an Interim CEO at New Tech Network. In the past, they worked as an Independent Education Consultant and a Coach for the Deeper Learning Equity Fellows. Prior to that, Jim held various leadership positions at New Tech Network and served as a School Principal at Two Rivers Public Charter School. Jim began their career in education as a Special Education Teacher and Transition Coordinator at The Kingsbury Center.
Jim May has a comprehensive education history. Jim began their academic journey in 1993 at Presbyterian College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Social Studies Teacher Education. After completing their undergraduate studies in 1997, they furthered their education at The George Washington University. From 2002 to 2005, they obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration.
In 2019, Jim embarked on a new educational endeavor by attending the Stanford Graduate Schools of Education and Business. Jim enrolled in the Stanford EdLEADers Professional Certificate Program, which they completed in 2022. Through this program, they acquired a Stanford EdLEADers Professional Certificate, earning 9 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the Graduate School of Education (GSE) and 9 CEUs from the Graduate School of Business (GSB).
