Andy Zern serves as the Director of Engineering at New Standard Corporation since January 2002, where responsibilities include product cost estimating, oversight of the APQP Stage Gate process, implementation of standard work practices, and continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen. Zern has managed significant corporate capital projects and possesses expertise in design for manufacturability, engineering changes, and value engineering. Prior to this role, Zern functioned as a Project Manager, overseeing multiple $4MM to $10MM programs, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful integration of products across global sites. Earlier experience at Tyco Electronics spanned over a decade in various engineering roles, emphasizing die design, assembly automation, and high-volume production methodologies. Zern is a Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn State University.
