Tom Loveland is an experienced professional with a diverse work history. Tom founded Mind Over Machines in 1989 and served as the CEO, assisting market leaders in solving complex business technology challenges. During their tenure, the company received various accolades and awards from clients, including the National Institutes of Health. Tom was also recognized as one of the "best technical minds in business" and featured in the book "CTOs At Work." Additionally, Mind Over Machines was listed as one of the Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies.
Tom later took on the role of Director at New Sapience starting in 2021. Prior to that, they were a part of The LEADERship Class of 2011 at Greater Baltimore Committee, where they further expanded their leadership skills. In 2004, Tom participated in the Leadership Maryland program as a member of the Class of 2004.
Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Tom worked as a Programmer at Bytebusters, Inc. from 1986 to 1987. Tom also gained valuable experience as a Laborer, Machinist, and Union Representative at Peter Pan Seafoods, Inc. from 1979 to 1981, handling salmon processing in a small Aleut village.
Tom Loveland attended the University of Chicago from 1983 to 1985, where they studied Mathematics. Prior to that, from 1980 to 1982, they were enrolled in the Great Books Program at St. John's College. In 1979, they briefly studied Comparative History of Ideas at the University of Washington.
