Carlos Portanova, MBA has a diverse work experience in the financial field. Carlos currently serves as the Treasurer/CFO and Trust Director at the New Jersey Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists Inc. starting from July 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Treasurer and Trust Director at the Oklahoma Conference of SDA from October 2019 to July 2021.

Carlos also worked as an Undertreasurer at the New Jersey Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists Inc. from May 2017 to October 2019. Before that, they served as an Associate Treasurer/Risk Management Director at the Arkansas Louisiana Conference of Seventh-day Adventist from November 2011 to May 2017.

Carlos'searly career began at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists as an Auditor, where they worked from January 2005 to November 2011. Throughout their career, Carlos has gained experience in budget preparation, monitoring finances, accounting, internal control, trust operations, as well as audit schedules and GAAP financial statement preparation.

Carlos Portanova, MBA, holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a specialization in Accounting from Southwestern Adventist University, which they completed from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Universidad Peruana Unión, attending from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, Carlos Portanova has obtained a certification in Planned Giving and Trust Services from the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in December 2019.
