Alex Papanicolaou is an experienced application engineer at Neurescence Inc., specializing in the design and manufacturing of innovative microscopes for imaging neuronal activity. In addition, Alex is a farmer at Watermead Farm, where hay, fruits, vegetables, honey, and maple syrup are produced. Previously, Alex held leadership roles as Director and Lead Designer at Microfactory Co-operative Inc., which supports hardware startups through a range of engineering services. As a co-founder of Thermascans LTD and Open EyeTap, Alex contributed to the development of low-cost forehead temperature scanners and smart glasses/AR technology. Alex's earlier experience includes a role as an iPhone Hardware System Integration Engineer at Apple and a research assistant at the Institute for Optical Sciences at the University of Toronto. Alex holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, attained in 2016.
