Naveen Rao is the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Databricks since July 2023, following the acquisition of Mosaic ML, which Rao co-founded and led as CEO until July 2023. Rao serves on the scientific advisory board of the Allen Institute and holds board positions at Beacon Biosignals, NeuReality, and Luminous Computing. Previously, Rao was a CorpVP and General Manager of the Artificial Intelligence Products Group at Intel Corporation, and co-founded Nervana, where innovations in machine intelligence were developed. Rao's research experience includes neuromorphic machines at Qualcomm. Rao holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Brown University and a BSEE in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Duke University.
