Jessica Kagan has worked in the software engineering industry since 2016. Jessica began their career at Ameresco, where they served as a Front End Web Developer. In this role, they performed comprehensive frontend development and design work on Building Dynamics, a set of browser based analytics, M&V, and public dashboard tools. Jessica also enhanced unit testing comprehensiveness throughout Building Dynamics, as well as setting up an end to end system and methodology using Ghost Inspector. Additionally, they lead the frontend development of an engineer-facing tool for sensor level analysis, including setting up a frontend build system using Node, Webpack, and Handlebars for lightweight templating. In 2019, Jessica began working for Neurala as a Software Engineer. In this role, they contribute to the development of VIA's main components - Brain Builder and Inspector, performing both web and desktop development using a Node/Angular/Electron ecosystem. Jessica also collaborates closely with UX designers, the software engineers on their team, Neurala's director of product, and other technical personnel in order to produce high quality software and create the best machine learning/industrial automation product possible.
Jessica Kagan's education history includes attending the University of Rochester from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History. Jessica also attended Oldenburg Academy from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Udacity in Front-End Web Developer Nanodegree, Intro to HTML and CSS, JavaScript Basics, Object-Oriented JavaScript, and Website Performance Optimization, all obtained in April 2015.
