Tom Symons is an experienced professional in government innovation and public policy, currently serving as Deputy Director and Head of Government Innovation Research at Nesta since January 2015, focusing on data and digital roles in government innovation. Prior to this, Tom worked at Social Finance as an Associate, developing Social Impact Bonds and financial models for local public services. Tom's experience also includes advising at the Local Government Association and conducting research at the New Local Government Network. Early career roles include service development and graduate trainee positions at Homes for Islington and the London Borough of Islington. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Politics from the University of Exeter and a Master’s degree in Housing from the University of Westminster.
