Rene van Oorschot is a Senior Geologist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently employed at New European Offshore since September 2022. Prior roles include serving as Subsurface Lead Developments and Non Operated Assets at Dana Petroleum Limited from September 2019 to September 2022 and working as a Senior Geologist at Spirit Energy from December 2009 to March 2021. Rene's expertise includes developing geocellular static reservoir models for various fields and basins, particularly focusing on Carboniferous fluvio-deltaic reservoirs. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, an MSc in Petroleum Geology, and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geology, both from the University of Aberdeen.
