Dr Pereria is the Medical Advisor at Vifor in the UK and was a Research Group Leader at the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on understanding the risk-benefit balance of oral iron in iron deficiency, the gut microbiome and enteric infections. She was a Principal Investigator with the MRC Unit The Gambia on a clinical trial investigating the safety and efficacy of oral iron supplements in young children. Dr Pereira contributed to invention of the patented technology behind IHAT.
