Established in 1975, NHS of Chicago is a nonprofit, HUD-certified housing and counseling organization committed to helping homeowners and strengthening neighborhoods. Neighborhood Lending Services (NLS),  a nonprofit mortgage lender affiliated with NHS of Chicago, offers affordable loan options to help families buy, fix, or keep a home.

NHS'​ mission is to create opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives, and strengthen their neighborhoods.

NHS offers free homebuyer education classes, free foreclosure prevention workshops and Fix Your Mortgage events, and new and rehabbed homes for sale and rent.
