Sarah Lustbader is an accomplished criminal defense attorney currently serving at the Neighborhood Defender Service since October 2020. With a diverse background in legal advocacy, Sarah previously held the position of Senior Legal Counsel and Senior Contributor at The Appeal Media from November 2017 to October 2020. Additionally, Sarah worked as a Senior Program Associate focused on reimagining prison at the Vera Institute of Justice from June 2016 to November 2017 and has extensive experience as a criminal defense attorney at The Bronx Defenders from December 2012 to June 2016 and previously from September 2010 to September 2011. Early in the career, Sarah was an Associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP from October 2011 to November 2012. Educationally, Sarah earned a JD from New York University School of Law and a BA in International Relations from Stanford University.
