John Barr is an experienced portfolio manager with a strong background in investment and sales. Currently, John serves as a Portfolio Manager at Needham Funds, co-managing the Needham Growth Fund and managing the Needham Aggressive Growth Fund since September 2009. Prior roles include founding partner and Portfolio Manager at Oliver Investment Management, LLC, and Senior Vice President at Buckingham Research Group, where John also held responsibilities as a portfolio manager and analyst. Previous experience encompasses positions as Managing Director and Analyst at Robertson Stephens and Needham & Company, as well as various sales and marketing roles in companies such as Interconnectix, Racal-Redac, and HHB Systems. John holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University.
