Senior Business Team Lead Analyst at Nedbank

Sheral Palmer, CBAP, has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the banking and financial industry. Sheral began their career at Consolidated Share Registrars as a Programmer, where they were responsible for producing dividend runs and share pay-outs, as well as developing a new Reconciliation System.

In 1995, Sheral joined Nedbank as a Technical Programmer, managing internal support structures and implementing routine changes for the Branch systems. Sheral later took on roles as a Programmer, Systems Analyst, Systems Designer, and Team Leader, leading teams and overseeing projects involving changes to the Branch Financial system and various internal systems.

Sheral then transitioned to the role of IT Product Specialist, where they gathered requirements and approved designs, code, and test cases for different projects. Sheral also became a specialist in new systems, providing consultancy support to development teams.

In 2003, Sheral moved to the Business side of Nedbank as a Channel Specialist/Business Analyst, focusing on the Teller, Foreign Exchange, Imaging, and Signature Verification systems. Sheral created training documents, managed small initiatives, acted as a consultant on projects affecting the channels, handled queries, and assisted in testing initiatives.

Since 2012, Sheral has been serving as a Senior Business Team Lead Analyst at Nedbank. In this role, they have created processes aligned with industry standards and implemented them within their team. Sheral manages a team of Business Analysts, continuously refining and improving processes and related documents.

Overall, Sheral Palmer has demonstrated a diverse range of skills and experience in business analysis, project management, system design, and team leadership throughout their career in the banking and financial industry.

Sheral Palmer, CBAP, obtained a degree in COBOL Programming from the Computer Academy of SA in 1988. Prior to that, they completed their Matric at Wordsworth High School from 1983 to 1987. In terms of additional certifications, Sheral Palmer has achieved the IIBA AAC certification in December 2021, Certified SAFeĀ® 5 Agilist in December 2020, and CBAP Recertification in July 2019. Sheral also holds certifications in Body Language for Leaders from LinkedIn in 2018, Certified Scrum Product Owner from Agile Scrum Allianceā„¢ in 2018, CBAP from IIBA in July 2016, and George Washington Certified Business Analyst from George Washington University in 2012.
