Brian Wert is a transportation professional with extensive experience in project management and policy implementation within the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Currently serving as the NCDOT SPOT Manager since October 2021, Brian leads the SPOT Office, collaborating with the Prioritization Workgroup to prioritize transportation projects. Prior roles at NCDOT include Senior Engineer in the SPOT Office and Deputy Director of the Transportation Planning Division, where responsibilities involved developing the State Transportation Improvement Plan and coordinating traffic forecasts. Previous experience includes project management at RK&K and senior planning roles at URS Corporation and Martin/Alexiou/Bryson. Brian holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
