Sophia Venturo is a news producer at NBC5 since January 2023, responsible for producing the 4/4:30 pm newscasts and contributing to editorial meetings. Prior to this role, Sophia served as an associate producer, where responsibilities included assisting with the 5/5:30 pm newscast, writing scripts, and creating graphics. Sophia’s experience also includes positions as a social media manager at the UVM Department of Art and Art History, and as culture editor and writer for The Vermont Cynic, where responsibilities spanned from news reporting to cultural commentary. Additional roles at the University of Vermont included peer advisor intern at the UVM Advising Center, administrative assistant at the UVM Center for Academic Success, and orientation leader. Sophia holds a degree in political science and journalism from the University of Vermont.
