Michael Chouinard is a Senior Software Engineer at Nava. Michael previously worked as a Software Development Engineer II at Amazon from June 2015 to June 2018, where they designed and developed systems and features for the best seller experience on Amazon, including best seller & new release badges, product sales rank and the best seller lists. Michael also redesigned and rewrote large, critical, live, backend systems in Java, Apache Spark, and Amazon Web Services which required parity to users across fourteen websites. In addition, they designed and implemented a tool that was used by seller support agents that reduced seller contacts by 40%, and reduced the remaining tickets' resolution time by 75% for developers. Furthermore, they cut the team's yearly budget in half by restructuring hardware fleets and making more efficient use of available resources. Lastly, they mentored three summer interns to successful, completed projects, who all received return offers.
