Isabelle Girard is an experienced professional in program management and research funding, currently serving as a Manager at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) since May 2017. Isabelle oversees the delivery of Alliance grants and Synergie Awards for Innovation to Canadian universities, and is responsible for recruiting committee members and evaluators for application reviews. Previous roles include Senior Program Officer at NSERC and Funding Program Manager at the Innovation Centre at Bayview Yards. Isabelle's background also encompasses experience in livestock welfare as the Provincial Livestock Welfare Specialist for the Government of Alberta, and research and development at the Alberta Livestock and Meat Agency. Early career experience includes serving as a HACCP Coordinator at Aliya's Foods. Isabelle holds a Master's degree in Meat Quality and a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy with a focus on Animal Sciences, along with a certificate in Management Development from the University of Alberta.
