Dawone Robinson

Managing Director, Place-based Advocacy - Climate & Energy at Natural Resources Defense Council

Dawone Robinson is an experienced professional in government affairs and environmental policy, currently serving as the Southeast Government Affairs Director at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) since May 2016, while also leading climate strategy initiatives focused on fossil fuels and clean energy. Previously, Dawone held the position of Virginia Policy Director at the Chesapeake Climate Action Network from February 2012 to April 2016 and worked as a lobbyist for the Innocence Project of Iowa. Additional experience includes a legislative internship with the State of Iowa Legislature in 2010 and program management at the Iowa State University Foundation. Dawone holds a Doctor of Law (JD) in Legislative Practice and Public Service from Drake University Law School, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism, Political Science, and Speech from Iowa State University.
