Chakena D. Perry serves as a Senior Policy Advocate for the Safe Water Initiative at the Natural Resources Defense Council since December 2022, focusing on developing strategies and partnerships to ensure water safety and accessibility. As the Founder of Black Millennial Renaissance and a Board Member for Planned Parenthood of Illinois Action, Chakena D. Perry champions social and health-related causes. Previous roles include serving as a Commissioner for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, Chairwoman of the Cook County Young Democrats, and various leadership positions in political outreach and communications. Chakena D. Perry holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Connecticut College.
