Monica Araya is an experienced leader in climate and environmental management with a robust background in strategy and governance. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Natural Resource Governance Institute and as a Senior Strategist at Utgard AS, Araya has provided independent advisory services to leaders in Latin America, the US, and Europe. Additional roles include Executive Director at the European Climate Foundation, where oversight of international climate efforts and grant-making occurred, and distinguished fellow at ClimateWorks Foundation, contributing to the Drive Electric Campaign for zero-emissions transport. Araya's prior experience encompasses positions at the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and involvement in various international climate negotiations. Araya holds a PhD in Environmental Management from Yale University and a Master's in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment.
