Alex Chalmers is an accomplished entrepreneur and investment professional with extensive experience in the real estate and technology sectors. Currently serving as the Founder and Managing Partner of Material Capital Partners, a Charleston-based real estate development firm, Alex leads efforts in creating purpose-built single-family build-for-rent communities throughout the Southeast. As the Founder of Material Ventures, Alex focuses on sustainable real estate and emerging technologies. Previous roles include Co-Founder and Managing Director at Avenida Capital, where Alex managed a substantial portfolio of private equity real estate investments in Latin America, and Principal at Jefferies & Company, specialized in alternative investment strategies.
