Sorin Draghici is a distinguished academic and industry leader with extensive experience in computer science and bioinformatics. Currently serving as Program Director at the National Science Foundation since July 2022, Sorin also holds the position of President and CEO at Advaita Bio since 2005. At Wayne State University, Sorin is a Professor of Computer Science, Associate Dean for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and holds the Robert J. Sokol, MD Endowed Chair in Systems Biology. Previous roles include Director of the Bioinformatics Core at Karmanos Cancer Institute and Project Manager at BioDiscovery, along with a software engineering position at Olivetti. Sorin obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of St Andrews and holds an M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest.
