Kurt Repanshek is the founder and editor-in-chief of National Parks Traveler, a prominent nonprofit media organization launched in August 2005, dedicated to covering national parks and protected areas, with approximately three million annual readers and a substantial social media presence. Previous experience includes freelance writing for Boston Productions, Inc. in 2015, authoring articles for notable publications such as Smithsonian Magazine and National Geographic Traveler between 1993 and 2010, and serving as a contract writer for John Wiley and Sons, producing national park guidebooks from 1999 to 2005. Additionally, Kurt contributed as a Northern Rockies correspondent for Snow Country Magazine and directed news coverage in Wyoming as the correspondent in charge with The Associated Press from 1985 to 1993. Kurt holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from West Virginia University, earned between 1975 and 1980.
