Steve Patterson is currently the Director at National League of Cities. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Policy Analyst for the National Governors Association from January 2018 to August 2020. In this role, they provided advice to senior state officials on postsecondary education and talent development strategies. From June 2013 to August 2013, Steve interned at Public Campaign where they collaborated with congressmen on legislative efforts related to federal policy on fair elections. Steve also conducted extensive research on interest groups and outside political spending. In addition, Steve has worked as a Runner for McCarthy Strategic Solutions and as a Deputy Policy Advisor for the Office of the Governor of Kentucky.

Patterson earned a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Commerce from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Kentucky.
