Breann Birkenbuel is an experienced professional in visual strategy and operations, currently serving as the Photography Manager for Research and Operations at National Geographic since May 2017. In this role, Breann drives creative excellence and operational efficiency for special titles and archival research while managing visual operations and production workflows for various projects. Prior positions include Senior Photo Editor, responsible for the visual needs of multiple annual special issues, and Project Associate, where Breann facilitated the planning and execution of programs within the Visuals and Immersive Experiences department. Breann's earlier experience includes roles as a Business Coordinator at Adler Display, Inside Sales Representative at JCG Exhibits & Events, and Project Manager at Rapiergroup. Breann holds a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland.
