Nicole Belle Derise

Nicole Belle DeRise currently serves as a Program Officer at the National Endowment for the Humanities, a position held since January 2023. With extensive experience in the field of history and public programming, DeRise has worked as a Freelance Researcher since 2012 and previously held roles such as Assistant Director and Consultant for The Sing Sing Prison Museum from March 2020 to January 2023, and Vice President and Historian at Wells Fargo Family History & Business History Center from June 2013 to September 2019. Other notable positions include Program Manager for Brooklyn Connections at Brooklyn Public Library and Consultant for various institutions including The National September 11 Memorial & Museum and the South Street Seaport Museum. DeRise earned a Master’s Degree in Public History from New York University and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
