Joanna Capps

Program Specialist, Edsitement at National Endowment for the Humanities

Joanna Capps is an experienced educator and program specialist with a diverse background in teaching and curriculum development. Currently serving as a Program Specialist for EDSITEment at the National Endowment for the Humanities since April 2021, Joanna previously held roles including World Issues Lecturer and Curriculum Contributor at Active Minds, and Director of Education with the White House Historical Association. Joanna's experience also encompasses various educational positions, such as a teacher at Washington Latin Public Charter School and Fairfax County Public Schools. Joanna holds a Master of Arts in History from American University, a Master of Education in Middle Grades Education from Western Carolina University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Studies in the Humanities from The Ohio State University.
