Genevieve Shea is Senior Program Manager for the National Democratic Institute’s Central and Eastern Europe team. In this role, she manages the design and implementation of technical assistance and capacity building programs to strengthen democratic resilience in Central Europe. She has organized training programs for hundreds of politically active youth and women in Central Europe and conducted research on the impact of malign foreign influence in the region. Ms. Shea has a decade of experience working in European affairs through prior positions with the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Helsinki Commission, and in the U.S. Congress and has served as a U.S. delegate for international election observation missions in Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan. Ms. Shea holds two master's degrees, in European Politics and European Economics, from the University College London and Corvinus University, in Budapest, Hungary, respectively; and an undergraduate degree in International Relations from the American University of Paris.
