Arnoud van Petersen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in different organizations. Arnoud began their career as a Junior Public Policy Analyst at Research voor Beleid in 2001 and gradually advanced to the roles of Public Policy Analyst and Senior Public Policy Analyst.
In 2007, Arnoud joined the Ministerie van BZK, where they served as a Security Analyst before moving on to positions such as Acting Team Manager, Project Manager, and Team Manager. Arnoud'sresponsibilities included overseeing security governance, risk management, and compliance for the government.
From 2014 to 2018, Arnoud worked at Belastingdienst, firstly as an IT Strategy Consultant and later as the Lead IT Strategy Consultant. Here, they contributed to the IT infrastructure and operations services necessary for tax revenue generation.
In 2018, Arnoud joined the Nationaal Cyber Security Centrum (NCSC-NL), where they served as the CIO and Head of IT services. Arnoud built and managed a new IT Services Unit, developed IT strategies, modernized IT infrastructure, and led an agile transformation within the organization.
Additionally, during their time at NCSC-NL, Arnoud also held the position of Head of threat detection and -analysis, where they led a team of cyber threat analysts and expanded the National Detection Network.
Throughout their career, Arnoud demonstrated expertise in public policy analysis, information security, IT strategy, and IT services management.
Arnoud van Petersen obtained their bachelor's degree, a propedeuse, in Political Science and Government from Leiden University in 2005. Prior to that, they completed their master's degree, doctoraal/MSc, in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Groningen between 1996 and 2001. In addition to their formal education, Arnoud van Petersen has also obtained various certifications, including CGEIT from ISACA in May 2021, Agile Enterprise from inspearit in November 2015, ITIL Foundation from APMG-International in May 2015, PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner from APMG-International in February 2013, Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP from (ISC)² in December 2012, and PRINCE2 Foundation from the Office of Government Commerce in May 2011.
