Kathy Syms

Citizen Archivist at National Archives

Kathy Syms is a professional with extensive experience in marketing, business development, and sales management. Currently serving as a Citizen Archivist at the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration since March 2024, Kathy contributes to enhancing the accessibility of historical documents. Previously, Kathy held a role in business development at Arizona Lottery from February 2020 to January 2024, focusing on generating new business and strategic direction. Kathy also worked at EMI Yoshi for nearly a decade in various positions, including Regional Sales & Business Development and Director of Marketing, where responsibilities included sales management and marketing strategy development. Prior experiences include channel sales and marketing management at Quickie Manufacturing, senior marketing management at Franklin Electronic Publishers, and marketing and communications management at PLAYMOBIL USA, Inc. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Rutgers University.
