Julie Pavlin serves as the Director of the Board on Global Health within the Health and Medicine Division at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine since November 2016. Prior experience includes roles such as Research Physician at the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Program and Deputy Director at the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center. Academic leadership positions have been held at the Uniformed Services University and the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences. Julie Pavlin’s educational background includes a PhD in Emerging Infectious Diseases from the Uniformed Services University, an MPH in International Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and an MD from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, complemented by an AB in History and Biology from Cornell University.
