Heidi Schweingruber has extensive experience in science education, currently serving as the Director for the Board on Science Education at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine since January 2004. Prior roles within the same institution include Deputy Director and Senior Program Officer. Before joining The National Academies, Heidi Schweingruber worked as a Senior Research Associate at the U.S. Department of Education from September 2001 to December 2003. Academically, Heidi Schweingruber holds a PhD in Psychology and Anthropology and a BA in Psychology, both obtained from the University of Michigan, with the doctoral studies completed between 1991 and 1997 and the bachelor’s degree earned from 1986 to 1989.
