David May is a seasoned communication and marketing professional with extensive experience in strategic roles across various prominent organizations. Currently serving as the Chief Communications Officer at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine since January 2019, David focuses on enhancing the impact of scientific, engineering, and medical advice. Prior to this role, David held the position of Corporate Chief Marketing Officer at AIG from September 2013 to December 2018, and served as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs for nearly 17 years, where David was responsible for global marketing and branding strategies. Earlier in the career, David led client accounts and new business initiatives as Managing Director at J. Walter Thompson and held a similar role at Young & Rubicam. David began the professional journey as an English Second Language Teacher at Chinese Culture University. Academically, David holds an MBA in General Management from Harvard Business School and an AB in Politics from Princeton University.
