Duncan Grimes is an experienced research professional with a strong background in social research and qualitative methodologies. Currently serving as Research Director at NatCen Social Research since September 2021, Duncan leads projects focused on public opinion using deliberative methods. Prior roles include Senior Consultant at Traverse, where Duncan delivered social research and evaluation projects for public sector clients, and Freelance Qualitative Consultant, conducting comprehensive qualitative research across the project cycle. Duncan's expertise also spans significant positions at YouGov, where responsibilities included managing longitudinal qualitative projects related to resilience in Iraqi neighborhoods, and at Green Light Research International, conducting qualitative research for international clients. A Policy Research Officer at GTCE, Duncan has been involved in social policy desk research and project management. Duncan holds an MA in Historical Research from The University of Sheffield and a BA in History from the University of Leicester.
