Sebastian Stanescu MD, MS, ITIL has extensive work experience in the field of healthcare information technology. Sebastian has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. Sebastian currently works as an MS Sr. Manager Clinical Applications at Altera Digital Health since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Director, IT - Clinical Systems at Nassau Health Care Corporation from 2017 until their move to Altera Digital Health. Sebastian also worked at Allscripts as a Senior Manager, IT - Clinical Applications, where they were initially hired as a systems manager and quickly promoted to account manager (IT Director) within 3 months. Sebastian led a team of analysts in executing EMR/EHR projects of varying scale and complexity, delivering cost savings and improving service quality. Before Allscripts, Sebastian was a Project Lead, Information Systems - CPOE at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where they led a team in deploying EMR/EHR configuration initiatives and served as a contact for clinical documentation projects. Sebastian also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and City University of New York, teaching Medical Informatics and expanding internship programs. In addition, Sebastian served as a System Manager at NYU Lutheran, managing the implementation of the Midas+ Care Management platform, and completed an internship at NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation. Prior to their career in healthcare IT, Sebastian worked as a Web Developer and Research Assistant at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Overall, Sebastian Stanescu MD, MS, ITIL has a diverse background in healthcare IT, with experience in management, project leadership, and teaching.

Sebastian Stanescu holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in General Medicine from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, completed from 1999 to 2005. Sebastian also obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Medical Informatics and Healthcare Information Technology from SUNY at Downstate Medical Center, completed from 2012 to 2014. Prior to their medical studies, they pursued Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies at SUNY at Stony Brook from 1997 to 1999. In terms of certifications, Sebastian Stanescu obtained the IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) in 2016 from ITIL Foundation Certification Training Level, and the Midas+ Certified System Manager certification in October 2014 from Midas+.
