Derek Chinich has a diverse range of professional experiences. Derek started their career at Vassar College, where they served as a Help Desk Supervisor and later as a Campus Patrol Supervisor. In these roles, they ensured the safety and security of the college community, coordinated student patrollers, and resolved various incidents.

After their time at Vassar College, Derek worked at Grassroots Campaigns as a Campaign Manager, leading and managing campaign initiatives. Derek then joined JK Group as a Data Entry Operator, where they handled data entry tasks.
