Marvin Nayan

Marvin Nayan, PhD, is a scientist currently affiliated with Cercle and NanoString Technologies, Inc., since July 2022 and November 2022, respectively. Previously, Marvin Nayan served as a Doctoral Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2014 to 2020, focusing on research within the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences. Prior to this, Marvin Nayan worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington from 2010 to 2014, where research involved identifying and characterizing genes related to dendrite maintenance in Drosophila. Additional experience includes a position as a Janelia Undergraduate Scholar at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in the summer of 2013, which focused on sensory information processing in Drosophila, and an internship as a Business Analyst at Boeing in 2009. Marvin Nayan holds a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from MIT and a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Biochemistry, both with honors, from the University of Washington.
