Björn Agnarsson has a diverse range of work experience spanning from 2000 to the present. Björn started their career as a Research Assistant at Vaki in 2000 and later worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Lyfjathroun Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. from 2001 to 2002. From 2004 to 2010, Björn served as a University Lecturer and Teacher at the University of Iceland. Björn then joined Chalmers University of Technology in 2011 as a Postdoctoral Researcher, focusing on the fabrication and development of optical sensors. Björn's responsibilities also included being a member of the European Metrology Research Project, BioSurf. In 2015, they became a Research Engineer at Chalmers University, where they led projects and provided guidance on the development of analytical methods and devices related to nanoparticle detection and research. Björn co-founded Aligned Bio in 2019, and currently, they are working as a Technical Lead at Nanolyze since 2021.
Björn Agnarsson completed their Bachelor of Science in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at Háskóli Íslands. Björn then went on to earn their Master's degree in Technical Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Björn further pursued their education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Physics from Háskóli Íslands. Later, they achieved a Licentiate degree in Applied Physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
