Mya Smith is a dedicated public health professional with extensive experience in health equity and social justice initiatives. Currently serving as a Senior Program Assistant at NACCHO since January 2024, Mya supports the Health Equity and Social Justice team through project coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Previous roles include a Health Equity and Social Justice Intern at NACCHO, where Mya contributed to addressing health inequities, and an intern at Leadership & Community Service Learning, managing a platform that connects students to service opportunities. Mya's background also includes working as a Research Assistant at the University of Maryland School of Public Health and serving as a Supervisor at University Recreation & Wellness. Mya holds a degree from the University of Maryland, having graduated in 2023.
