Koen Laenens serves as Fractievoorzitter for N-VA in the municipal council of Antwerp since June 2021 and is a municipal councillor for Stad Antwerpen since January 2013, focusing on committees related to safety, spatial planning, education, finance, personnel, and youth. In addition, Koen has been on the board of Waterlink since September 2014 and served on the board for urban education at AGSO from September 2013 to September 2021. Koen held the presidency of N-VA Deurne from November 2014 to February 2019 and has been a teacher at Sint-Annacollege since February 2002, specializing in geography, history, religion, and social studies. Earlier experience includes participation in a street team for YFC Durban, working with street children and AIDS patients in 2001. Koen Laenens holds a Bachelor’s degree in education from Karel de Grote-Hogeschool.
