Steve Cantrell serves as the Director of Leadership Giving at the Museum of New Mexico Foundation since July 2016, focusing on raising $1 million annually through the cultivation and stewardship of over 200 major gift prospects and donors. Previously, in a similar capacity at the State of New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs from August 2006 to July 2016, Steve directed public and media relations for multiple state museums and initiatives. Steve's extensive experience in arts administration includes roles such as Director of Adult Education & Public Programs at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, Program Administrator at Santa Fe Community College, and Director of Development and Public Affairs at SITE Santa Fe. An alumnus of New York University with a Master’s in Arts Administration, Steve began a distinguished career in the arts sector in roles that encompassed public relations, marketing, and development at various institutions, including Creative Time, Inc., and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.
