Ismo Malinen has accumulated extensive experience in the museum sector, currently serving as Chief Intendant at the Finnish Heritage Agency since December 2012, where Ismo leads the Picture Collections Unit. Previous roles include Intendant and Curator of Collections at the National Museum of Finland from June 2009 to December 2012, and a Researcher position at the Maritime Museum of Finland from April 1999 to June 2009. Ismo's career began as a Research Assistant at the University of Helsinki from October 1997 to March 1999, working on a project funded by the Academy of Finland, along with a role as Museum Assistant at the Maritime Museum of Finland in 1997. Ismo holds a Master of Arts degree in Finnish and Scandinavian History from the University of Helsinki, earned between 1990 and 1997.
