George Farkas is an experienced professional in planning, development, and community services, currently serving as the General Manager for the Municipality of North Cowichan since June 2020. Previously, George held the position of Principal at New Path Advisory Group Inc. from July 2017 to November 2019 and served in various roles, including Assistant Deputy Minister, at the Province of British Columbia from July 2011 to June 2017. In these roles, George was responsible for financial oversight of the K-12 public education sector, managing $50 billion balanced budgets, and conducting a provincial consultation to enhance small business access to government contracting opportunities. George holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria, completed between 1994 and 2000.
